The Untold Story
How we make a meaningful difference in other ways
Helping those when they most need it - in big and small ways - move to the end
Disability Support works with marginalised groups in the community to reduce and remove barriers that negatively impact independent living.
Our Welfare Team provides free advice and support on benefits and attends tribunals with our clients; our Community Support Team helps clients find grants, deal with other forms and paperwork, complete HomeLink applications, find activities and support, and more.
We also offer and host a social group every Wednesday and a dementia group every other Friday. A social group is also hosted on Tuesdays in Sneinton.
We have therapy animals that provide support and comfort to many of our clients, and we take them on visits to friendship groups, care homes and schools.
However, much of the work we do is not measured but adds social value in many ways; below are some of the ways we have worked with and supported the community.

Crazy Golf Trip

Two staff members took five clients to play Crazy Golf.
East Leake Academy Visit

CEO Charlotte and PA Simon attended a meeting at the school supporting a parent of a trans student who had concerns about the provisions they were providing.
Foxwood Academy Visit

CEO Charlotte spent the morning speaking to special needs students about what support is available post-school.

Sneinton Group Coffee Morning

A group of strangers came together and formed a strong unit. One became a grandparent, and they all brought in presents; one knitted a cardigan in 5 days.
The Vine, The Coco Club Visit

We visited the Coco Club at The Vine with the therapy animals and offered information to older people about what benefits they are entitled to if they or their relatives have health issues.
